What is the most rewarding part of volunteering for you?
"The most rewarding part of delivering financial literacy to our communities for me would be the opportunity to empower individuals with essential knowledge and skills that can positively impact their financial well-being and future. It is a crucial element for our total wellbeing. It helps people gain control of their financial life and helps navigate the challenges and opportunities that arise. Seeing people gain confidence is not only rewarding but inspiring." - Sandy P.
How do you see your volunteer work making a difference?
"I believe that through our work we have helped many individuals take control of their finances, make informed money decisions and given them the tools to improve their financial lives. I have seen many individuals take the tools and resources to lower their debt or improve their credit score. The more we talk about financial literacy in our communities, the stronger and more resilient our communities become. " - Sandy P.
"Sandy and her team at US bank have been a great asset for the Communities in Action program. They have reached 20-30 clients through their 7 financial literacy workshops offered since March 2023 and have dedicated 6 hours in direct client service time and many more hours in scheduling and planning. The US Bank presentations included topics such as conquering credit, identify theft, online security, borrowing basics, and managing debt and served to education Communities in Action clients on how financial topics can be leveraged as tools to increase their financial independence. Attending these workshops help our clients to feel empowered and in control of their financial planning and allow them to make informed decisions for themselves and their families in order to increase multi-generational financial stability and create good financial habits" . - Leigh Anne Brewer: CalAIM/CinA Program Manager
