BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
Lifeline’s Behavioral Health programs work with youth and adults who are struggling with mental health issues, emotional trauma, substance abuse, and thoughts of suicide. Individuals who come to Lifeline for help are often diagnosed with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, oppositional disorder, eating disorders, and autism. Lifeline’s Behavioral Health programs include: HERE Now - Teen Suicide Prevention program, TrueLife Recovery: North Coastal Teen Recovery Center, VIVA Counseling, Neighborhood Networks, and Connections Community Counseling.
HERE Now (Helping, Engaging, Reconnecting, and Educating Now) responds to the urgent need for teen suicide prevention programs in San Diego County. HERE Now is working to prevent youth suicide, suicidal ideation, and help foster safe school environments through suicide and bullying prevention education. HERE Now is a collaborative program led by Lifeline Community Services in partnership with San Diego Youth Services, South Bay Community Services, and San Diego County school districts.
TrueLife Recovery aims to serve youth aged 12-17 in need of an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program. TrueLife Recovery serves any adolescent enrolled in a school located in the North Coastal Region needing medical necessity for outpatient services. TrueLife Recovery provides the following but not limited to: evidence-based drug and alcohol outpatient treatment, counseling, case management, and benefit aid.
VIVA Counseling is a Behavioral Health Service for North County youth up to their 21st Birthday, who have Medi-Cal, or are uninsured or under-insured. The program consists of a brief therapeutic treatment that starts with the family meeting with the clinician, and centers on the mental health concerns that are most important to the youth and family. Together the clinician and family plan together how to best utilize the 14 sessions.
Connections Community Counseling is a mental health program for youth, up to age 21, who are homeless, runaway, or residing in inadequate or non-permanent living situations (couch surfing, transitional housing, multifamily living, threatened placement, etc.). Services are provided to youth and their adult support persons at our San Diego clinic and at various locations across the county to ensure accessibility. Master's level clinicians will provide case management services and ongoing individual and family therapy while youth partners with lived experience will work alongside clients to provide psychoeducation and skill-building.
Bridgeways is a certified, community-based program for young people up to age 21 that can help with behavioral health issues, like mental health and substance use. Our goal is to support young people who have been in trouble with the law or are at risk of getting into trouble. We offer various services to help you or someone you care about lead a healthier and happier life.
